Tra la fine di marzo e l’inizio di aprile ho intrapreso un viaggio straordinario alla scoperta della capitale cubana: l’Avana. Città ricca di storia, cultura e fascino. Situata sulla costa nord dell’isola di Cuba, è la più grande città dell’isola e una delle destinazioni turistiche più popolari dei Caraibi.

In late March and early April, I made an amazing trip to discover the Cuban capital: Havana. A city rich in history, culture and charm. Located on the north coast of the island of Cuba, it is the largest city on the island and one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Caribbean.

La città è famosa per la sua architettura coloniale spagnola, con strade acciottolate, edifici colorati e piazze vivaci. Tra le attrazioni più famose ci sono la Cattedrale di San Cristoforo, la Plaza de la Revolución, il Malecón e il Museo della Rivoluzione.

The city is famous for its Spanish colonial architecture, with cobblestone streets, colorful buildings, and lively plazas. Among the most famous attractions are the Cathedral of St. Christopher, the Plaza de la Revolución, the Malecón, and the Museum of the Revolution.

La Cattedrale di San Cristoforo, situata nella parte più antica della città, è una delle chiese più belle e antiche dell’Avana. Costruita nel XVI secolo in stile barocco, è caratterizzata da una facciata bianca e una torre alta 35 metri.

St. Christopher’s Cathedral, located in the oldest part of the city, is one of Havana’s oldest and most beautiful churches. Built in the 16th century in the Baroque style, it features a white facade and a 35-meter-high tower.

La Plaza de la Revolución è una delle piazze più grandi del mondo e un simbolo della storia e della cultura cubana. Qui si trovano i monumenti dedicati ai leader della rivoluzione cubana.

The Plaza de la Revolución is one of the largest squares in the world and a symbol of Cuban history and culture. Monuments dedicated to the leaders of the Cuban Revolution are located here.

Oltre alle attrazioni principali, ci sono molte altre cose da fare e da vedere a L’Avana. Si può visitare il mercato dell’Artigianato di San José, passeggiare per il quartiere colorato di Vedado o fare un tour delle famose fabbriche di sigari cubani.

Besides the main attractions, there are many other things to do and see in Havana. You can visit the San Jose Crafts Market, stroll through the colorful neighborhood of Vedado, or take a tour of the famous Cuban cigar factories.
