Fino al 7 maggio al Museo degli Innocenti a Firenze è possibile vedere la straordinaria mostra dedicata a M. C. Escher. La bellezza di circa 200 opere che hanno segnato il percorso artistico di uno dei più grandi artisti del Novecento, conosciuto per le sue opere che sfidano la percezione umana.

Until the 7th of May at the Museo degli Innocenti in Florence you can see the extraordinary exhibition dedicated to M. C. Escher. The beauty of about 200 works that marked the artistic journey of one of the greatest artists of the 20th century, known for his works that challenge human perception.

Il percorso espositivo inizia con le sue prime stampe e disegni realistici ispirati alla natura e ai paesaggi italiani per arrivare poi ad analizzare il lavoro svolto da Escher nell’ambito della tassellatura e della trasformazione di forme.

The exhibition begins with his early prints and realistic drawings inspired by nature and Italian landscapes and then goes on to analyze Escher’s work in tessellation and the transformation of forms.

L’artista ha giocato con architettura e prospettiva per dare forma a universi infiniti e coinvolgenti, carichi di meraviglia.

Ogni primavera, dal 1927 al 1935, Escher viaggiò insieme ai suoi amici da Roma al sud dell’Italia con l’obiettivo di trovare paesaggi da immortalare. Rimase particolarmente colpito dalle città costiere della Calabria e dall’architettura moresca di alcuni paesi della costa amalfitana.

Every spring from 1927 to 1935, Escher traveled with his friends from Rome to southern Italy in order to find landscapes to immortalize. He was particularly impressed by the coastal towns of Calabria and the Moorish architecture of some towns on the Amalfi coast.

Oltre al Belpaese, Escher viaggiò in tutta Europa, visitando alcuni dei luoghi più belli del continente, tra cui la Francia, l’Italia e la Spagna, dove rimase affascinato dalle tassellazioni del grande complesso dell’Alhambra.
