Non è un inverno magico se non mi concedo qualche giorno in montagna.

Quest’anno la scelta è ricaduta su Castelrotto, o Kastelruth, in Alto Adige. Questo grazioso paese vanta una posizione invidiabile ai piedi dell’Alpe di Siusi, nel Parco Naturale Sciliar-Catinaccio.

Durante il viaggio, man mano che ci avviciniamo, il paesaggio diventa sempre più affascinante; passando dal verde intenso al bianco dei prati e delle cime innevate.

Arriviamo a destinazione, presso l’Hotel Villa Kastelruth, a  un passo dall’inconfondibile Villa Felseck.

Ero alla ricerca di un breve soggiorno di relax e questa struttura si è rivelata la scelta migliore. Appena possibile ci concediamo un po’ di riposo presso il centro benessere, in tipico stile alpino. L’ambiente è accogliente e curato. Troviamo la piscina riscaldata all’aperto, la sauna, e la vasca idromassaggio. È un piacere abbandonarsi al dolce far niente circondati da un paesaggio così suggestivo.

Dopo esserci riposati, decidiamo di fare un giro del paese, che si rivela essere un vero goiello, con le sue case pittoresche e il caratteristico Campanile della Chiesa Parrocchiale, in Piazza Kraus. Rientriamo in albergo all’ora del tramonto, e rimaniamo affascinati dal panorama dalla nostra stanza: i colori caldi contrastano con paesaggio invernale, creando l’atmosfera ideale per scattare qualche foto. Rimaniamo affacciati alla finestra come due bambini fino all’ora di cena.

Il giorno seguente lo trascorriamo a Ortisei, che dista appena una quindicina di minuti. Avevamo sentito parlare di una pista da slittino, che era possibile percorrere salendo con la Funicolare Resciesa. Decidiamo di provarla. Arriviamo in cima e ci buttiamo nella discesa con lo slittino. Non credo ci sia bisogno di dirvi che ci siamo divertiti come matti! Un’esperienza davvero unica: adrenalina pura e tante risate tra paesaggi mozzafiato. 

It’s not a magical winter if I don’t treat myself to a few days in the mountains.

This year the choice fell on Kastelruth, in South Tyrol. This lovely village boasts an enviable location at the foot of the Alpe di Siusi, in the Sciliar-Catinaccio Nature Park.

During the trip, as we get closer, the landscape becomes more and more fascinating; passing from the intense green to the white of the meadows and snowy peaks.

We arrive at our destination, at the Hotel Villa Kastelruth, just a step away from the unmistakable Villa Felseck.

I was looking for a short relaxing stay and this hotel turned out to be the best choice. As soon as we could, we allowed ourselves a little rest in the wellness center, in typical alpine style. The environment is welcoming and well cared for. We find the heated outdoor pool, the sauna, and the whirlpool. It is a pleasure to indulge in the sweet idleness surrounded by such a charming landscape.

After resting, we decided to take a tour of the village, which turned out to be a real gem, with its picturesque houses and the characteristic bell tower of the parish church, in Kraus Square. We get back to the hotel at sunset, and we are fascinated by the view from our room: the warm colors contrast with the winter landscape, creating the ideal atmosphere to take some pictures. We stayed looking out the window like two children until dinner time.

The following day we spent in Ortisei, which is only fifteen minutes away. We had heard about a toboggan run, which was possible to go on by taking the Resciesa cable car. We decided to try it. We got to the top and threw ourselves into the toboggan run. I don’t think I need to tell you that we had the time of our lives! A truly unique experience: pure adrenaline and lots of laughs among breathtaking scenery.
