Io e il mio fidanzato abbiamo deciso per un paio di giorni dalla routine quotidiana in un piccolo paradiso Toscano: l’Argentario. Per il soggiorno la scelta è ricaduta su un grazioso relais con piscina: il Country Relais La Mortella. Si tratta di un antico casale finemente ristrutturato circondato dal verde. Una volta arrivati, siamo stati accolti nel migliore dei modi; dopo un breve riposo in camera ci concediamo un po’ di sano riposo in piscina, circondati dagli alberi.

My fiancé and I decided for a couple of days from our daily routine in a little Tuscan paradise: the Argentario. For the stay, the choice fell on a lovely relais with a swimming pool: the Country Relais La Mortella. It is a finely renovated old farmhouse surrounded by greenery. Once we arrived, we were welcomed in the best of ways; after a short rest in our room, we enjoyed some relaxing time by the pool, surrounded by trees.

Decidiamo poi di andare alla scoperta della famosa spiaggia La Feniglia. Per chi come noi ama camminare, si possono raggiungere dei punti molto selvaggi e liberi dall’affollamento. Nelle zone con meno turisti l’aspetto è di una spiaggia tipicamente maremmana con sabbia finissima e l’acqua bassa e limpida. Il posto è splendido e non vogliamo più venir via: rimaniamo soltanto noi e ci godiamo uno splendido tramonto. Non resta che tornare al relais e prepararsi per andare nella graziosa Porto Ercole per gustare un’ottima cena e concludere la giornata con una piacevole passeggiata sul lungomare. 

We then decide to explore the famous La Feniglia beach. For those of us who like to walk, you can reach some very wild spots free from crowding. In areas with fewer tourists, the appearance is of a typical Maremma beach, very fine sand and shallow, clear water. The place is beautiful and we don’t want to come away anymore: we just stay and enjoy a beautiful sunset. All that’s left is to return to the relais and get ready to head to pretty Porto Ercole to enjoy an excellent dinner and end the day with a leisurely stroll along the waterfront. 

I giorni seguenti decidiamo di esplorare le calette delle zona. Tra le più belle, non posso non menzionare Cala La Cacciarella, Cala del Gesso e Cala Mar Morto. Acqua cristallina e paesaggio mozzafiato. Non sono facili da raggiungere, per questo ve le sconsiglio se non volete camminare. Cala del Gesso dispone di una spiaggeta minuscola; le altre due ne sono praticamente sprovviste. In compenso, se amate nuotare, farete dei bagni indimenticabili immersi in questi angoli di paradiso. Per chi è alla ricerca di un “briciolo” di spiaggia quelle de L’Acqua Dolce, La Cantoniera e La Spiaggia Lunga si adattano maggiormente. Altrimenti vi consiglio La Feniglia, che con la sua ampiezza e i suoi angoli selvaggi non vi deluderà. È presente anche qualche stabilimento balneare per chi è alla ricerca di maggiore comodità e vari servizi.

The following days we decided to explore the coves in the area. Among the most beautiful, I cannot fail to mention Cala La Cacciarella, Cala del Gesso and Cala Mar Morto. Crystal clear water and breathtaking scenery. They are not easy to reach, so I do not recommend them if you do not want to walk. Cala del Gesso has a tiny beach; the other two are practically devoid of them. On the other hand, if you love swimming, you will have unforgettable swims immersed in these corners of paradise. For those who are looking for a “smidgen” of beach those at L’Acqua Dolce, La Cantoniera and La Spiaggia Lunga are most suitable. Otherwise I recommend La Feniglia, which with its width and wild corners will not disappoint. There are also a few bathing establishments for those looking for more convenience and various services.

Che dire di questi luoghi? Mi meraviglia pensare che siano racchiusi nei confini nella meravigliosa regione in cui vivo: la Toscana. Non smetterò mai di sentirmi fortunata di poter visitare dei luoghi così belli ogni volta che posso.

What to say about these places? I amaze myself to think that they are enclosed within the borders in the wonderful region where I live: Tuscany. I will never stop feeling lucky to be able to visit such beautiful places whenever I can.
